Mark Zuckerg Killed Santa Claus and Privacy
Have you ever thought about the words to “Santa Clause is Coming to Town”
Not sure about you, but when I hear the song (below ), what I think about is how much Santa reminds me of a Prison Warden and others (below).
The Song - Santa Clause is Coming to Town
Oh! You better watch out, You better not cry. You better not pout I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list, Checking it twice, Gonna find out who's naughty or nice. Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping, He knows when you're awake, He knows if you've been bad or good - So be good for goodness sake!
So! You better watch out, You better not cry, You better not pout, I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is coming
Here's what I think when I hear the song
The Warden (AKA Parent – Uncle Sam)
I’ve watching you even from a far, Everyone better be happy, Keep your mouth shut and let me talk, When I am around, I want you smiling
I have a list with your name on it, Who are you again, Are you on my shit list, When I am around, everything better be roses
I have cameras and tracking devices on you 24x7, You tell the world everything on Social Media, I even know when you drive to fast, Slow down if you want cheaper insurance.
I’ve been watching your keystrokes, I’ve been watching your Google Searches, No new toys for you ( brain typing), Next we are going to police your thoughts, When I’m around, you will…
I think like this because when I was a kid, I was always told: “… do this, or Santa won’t like you and will bring you a piece of coal.”
I thought, "What a mean guy".
And one year, he did! He brought be coal. Was the last year I heard about Santa visiting my house. Santa was not a nice guy, he was a punisher. Growing up, in my house, Santa was my Mom. Today, I think of Santa more like my great ol’ Uncle Sam.
Let’s not stop there; the same can be said for corporations.
Every day, there are more eyes watching you. We are giving away a little more of our privacy
Tomorrow our technology will be providing all our details will go straight to whoever hacks or purchases it.
It’s time to put a nail in the coffin,
As we are about to give away…
… the farm, life, freedom, independence, and soon.
You must fight for your right to party
Unfortunately, we live in a Dystopian Society
After all of the above, you would think I have a negative outlook. I don’t and privacy is not dead.
Santa … however…
Privacy is an ongoing challenge we cannot back down from fighting. It will be an ongoing conversation for which we must stand up for our privacy. Privacy is much like us, it will change, it will outgrow the clothes we are currently wearing.
